The item known as a collectible (or collectable) is most usually an item that has been manufactured and aimed at individuals to collect. For this reason, they are separate from other objects of collections, which may also include natural subjects (for example, beetles) and things manufactured for purposes other than collecting (such as, cars).

Many items made for other uses, (e.g. toys), turned out to be so in demand among collectors that they are subsequently targeted specifically to that group. These things are referred to as collector's items because of their rarity, and these items have, now and again, been worth enough to be marketed for plentiful amounts of currency.
