The thing known as a collectible (or collectable) is usually a manufactured item aimed at people to collect. In this respect, they are different from other subjects of collections, which could also include natural items (e.g., leaves) and things produced for purposes other than collecting (for example, cars).

Many objects manufactured for other uses, (such as toys), have become so in demand in the world of collectors that they are later directly marketed to that audience.
