The thing known as a collectible (or collectable) is most usually an item that has been manufactured and meant for people to collect. In a very few cases, a series of events will take place that result in an object from a series of collectibles becoming enormously valuable. These subjects are known as collector's items because of their rarity, and these things have very occasionally been worth enough to be marketed for great amounts of currency.
